Question by Kelly: How do I put words, or a patch onto a quilt?
I’m really new to quilting, and I was curious on how to add like the word Mother to my quilt, or how to put some flowers on a quilt without embroidering it myself? And ideas of websites that offer this stuff would be great too! Also, when you order a panel kit offline, does it come with the whole top and bottom of the blanket, or is it just the picture?

If you are ordering just the single panel, then it is just the piece of fabric. Quilting consists of joining a large and usually smooth and single colored back sheet, the filling quilt batting and the front with an attractive pattern of stitches that holds the whole together while enhancing the details of the face pieces – following edges of printed patterns, etc. Although there is also a quilting style where the stitching lines curve across the straight line picture pattern for making a second set of designs.
Normally the words would be printed or embroidered on a piece of cloth which would be sewn to other pieces and then turned over to hide the edges and sewn down. A badge could be treated the same way or sewn on like it was being put on a person’s sleeve/shirt.
